Gitte has over the past 10 years helped clients to bring a human-centered approach to setting development strategy. She has worked in range of industries, from consumer products, retail and banking to health care for clients including 3M, Citigroup, Pepsi, and LEGO, to create design strategies for space, service, and to identify new business opportunities. Following a freelance career in NYC, she joined IDEO from 2001 until 2007 as a research specialist. She relocated to Copenhagen in 2007, where she has since worked with clients to apply social science methods to business problems. - Background:
Gitte believes distributed co-creation is a disruptive practice that will transform markets, and currently is focusing her energy in this area.
Gitte has a Masters in Human-Centered Innovation from the Institute of Design of Chicago and a BFA from RISD. She has taught research methods (IIT Institute of Design) developed methods and published in the design research field.
Publications include “Participatory Design,” Design Dictionary, 2007 and “Innovation Play: Engaging users with visualization and storytelling for Engaging Participation in Design,” Proceedings, PDC 2006.
